Like the ID.4, the Nissan Ariya is powered by two electric motors and features an all-wheel drive system called e-4ORCE. The engine is powerful, ranging from 335 to 389 horsepower with the higher-end versions. However, its range is only 320 km, except if you choose a more expensive version with the 87 kW battery, which increases its range to a much more interesting 426 km.
This is an excellent 4x4 electric vehicle with a successful style and a number of versions to meet personal preferences. It is not as spacious as the ID.4, but it is still a good pick in 2022.
Like the Ariya, the EV6 is an all-new vehicle launching in the new model year. Its starting price is $44,995, so like the two previous models, it is eligible for government rebates; however, the all-wheel drive version costs $10,000 more and generates 320 horsepower.
Its range is estimated at 373 km. The GT performance version is also available, and it unleashes 576 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque. It is certainly an interesting option if you are willing to pay at least $61,995.
However, it is not as spacious as the other models we mentioned, and some people have complained about the limited headroom. This is reflected in its cargo capacity, which ranges from 520 to 1,300 L. This is not a great vehicle if you need a lot of space. It does, however, boast a sporty style and plenty of advanced technologies that are sure to please.
In the category of luxury electric 4x4s, the Audi Q4 is the most affordable option. It is offered at a starting price of $59,950. It is equipped with the same 82 kWh battery as the Volkswagen, so it is no more powerful than the other models with its 295 horsepower and 388 km range.
It is the technology and the quality of the finish that drive the price up. This may include leather seats or an ecological and comfortable material made of recycled plastic. Its style is still very similar to traditional Audis, but with a more modern touch.
If you want a distinctly futuristic design, both inside and out, the IONIQ 5 is exactly what you've been looking for. Its all-wheel drive version cranks out 320 horsepower and boasts a range of 414 km. All of this is made possible by its 77.4 kWh battery.
Its starting price is $56,951, although all-wheel drive is only available on the top of the line-up with Preferred version. However, its base price still makes it eligible for subsidies, which reduces the price quite a bit.
However, despite being a very stylish vehicle, car critics are pointing out that the steering lacks responsiveness and the suspension is a little too firm.
Volvo never does things halfway, and the XC40 Recharge delivers a striking level of luxury. Its comfortable and sleek interior uses eco-friendly materials, and optional packages truly add to its charm, particularly with the Harman Kardon premium audio system.
That being said, this electric 4x4 has a starting price of just over $60,000, so be prepared to pull out your wallet. It is powered by electric motors and offers 402 horsepower and 486 lb-ft of instantaneous torque, but its range is only 359 km.
