Pricing for the all-new ID.Buzz - MSRP expected to start at $44,995

As for the price of the ID.Buzz, the German giant expects a starting cost of between $44,995 and $60,000 or less for the province of Quebec; amounts are lower elsewhere on the Canadian market.

The good news is that since the Volkswagen ID. Buzz is 100% electric, it's possible it could qualify for the $5,000 federal grant

→ As a reminder, to qualify for the Canadian government grant, a vehicle must have an MSRP of less than $45,000, plus up to $10,000 in options, for a total of $55,000. If the vehicle has 7 seats, the maximum amount is $55,000, with a maximum of $5,000 in options.

Once the Canadian price of the ID.Buzz is known, it will be easier to determine how much subsidy buyers will be eligible for.

VW electric minibus release date - 2024 in Canada

The first ID. Buzz models were supposed to appear in Canada in 2022, according to Volkswagen's schedule. Unfortunately its release date has been delayed, and is now scheduled for the year 2024 in Canada.

Stay tuned for its release at VW Lauzon Boisbriand in our new vehicle inventory

The spacious interior of the ID. Buzz

We note that it's the long wheelbase version of the ID.Buzz that'll be available in Canada. The elongation resulting from a 250 mm increase in the wheelbase allows for the inclusion of a third row of seats, granting a generous storage capacity of up to 2,469 liters.

The ID. Buzz will be able to accommodate 7 passengers and the interior will be modular in several different configurations. Its center console can even be removed and used outside, according to early versions of the "Concept Car". Volkswagen's microbus is also the world's first electric multipurpose van with a fully automated driving mode. In the automated mode "ID. Pilot" mode, the driver can turn the seat 180 degrees to converse with other occupants.

Moreover, it seems as if VW will also offer the possibility of removing seats, which will prove to be extremely practical in order to increase interior space when needed. Backseats will be able to recline for more comfort for passengers and a foldable tray will be available for them as well.

Equipped with two electric motors producing 201 horsepower and 295 horsepower for the all-wheel drive model, the ID. Buzz will have a range of just over 400 km. The ID. Buzz with an extended wheelbase will offer a high-efficiency propulsion system upon release. In Europe and North America, customers will have the option to choose an innovative 210 kW electric drive motor and a brand-new 85 kWh battery (net), which is said to be able to be recharged to 80% in 30 minutes

This upgraded motor enables the vehicle to achieve a maximum speed of 160 km/h (limited electronically) for the large ID. Buzz (150 kW: 145 km/h for the European version). Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h, the larger ID. Buzz achieves this feat in just 7.9 seconds. However, there's even more exciting news: an all-wheel drive version known as the ID.
